Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

 

 

Officers from Lansbury, Limehouse and Poplar have been carrying out proactive drugs/ASB hotspot patrols and partnership working with trading standards between the 18th and 20th July.

On Thursday 17th July 2025 PS Lee 131CE , PC Abdellatif 2391CE, PC Thompson 3335CE and PC Hernandez-Lopez 2424CE Worked jointly with Licensing’s PC Wells and PC Parkinson and Trading standards. A business premises on Lansbury ward was visited where there had been intel to suggest Nitrous oxide was being sold to the public. Officers attended and seized x22 canisters of Nitrous oxide and various other drug paraphernalia. Investigations are ongoing.

On Friday 18th July 2025 PS Moore 103C3E, PS Lee 131CE, PC Abdellatif 2391CE, PC Thompson 3335CE, PC Happe 2013CE and PC Hernandez-Lopez 2424CE seized an illegal electric bike that could do speeds in excess of 50 mph in a known ASB hotspot area.

On Saturday the 19th May, PS Lee 131CE, PC Hussain 1240CE, PC Happe 2013CE, PCSO Sultana 7143CE and PCSO Patel 7207CE were patrolling a drug hotspot area in Limehouse when a male was spotted in Spert St inhaling Nitrous oxide. He was stopped and searched and x9 canisters of gas and approximately £5k in cash found and seized. Male was arrested for Possession with intent to supply drugs and the investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday 19th May PS Lee 131CE, PC Happe 2013CE and PCSO Sultana 7143CE were alerted by a Member of public to a male in the passengers side of a car doing gas. Car was stopped and males detained. x9 canisters of gas found and seized. x2 Com Res issued

In total 40 canisters of gas removed from the street and 6 Stop and searches carried out in relation to drugs.
